NBA官方宣布，拓荒者後衛麥凱倫(C.J. McCollum)贏得本季最佳進步獎票選。

聯盟三年級生麥凱倫，前季出賽62場，僅有3場先發，每場僅上場15.7分鐘，場均6.8分、1.5籃板、1.0助攻。季前拓荒者先發群出走四個。麥凱倫一躍為隊上主力，本季80場出賽全部是先發，場均34.8分鐘可以攻下20.8分、3.2籃板和4.3助攻。

更重要的是，他和後場搭檔里拉德(Damian Lillard)在沒有任何專家球評看好下，依舊把球隊帶進季後賽，44勝38敗高居西區第五位。僅較上季51勝31敗退步7場。拓荒者雙槍每場可得45.9分，是聯盟排名第三致命組合。

麥凱倫在130張傳媒投票中，獲得101張第一名肯定。總分559分。黃蜂後衛華克(Kemba Walker)、公鹿全能球員安戴托昆波(Giannis Antetokounmpo)分列二、三位。

麥凱倫今年主要數據皆為生涯最高，包括44.8%投籃命中率，及聯盟第八位、41.7%三分球命中率。他將前季平均得分提升14分，是聯盟史上第二。最高紀錄是坎貝爾(Tony Campbel)在89-90球季進步了17分(場均6.2分成長至23.2分)。當年他從湖人轉至擴編球隊灰狼，不過並未贏得最佳進步獎。

可能蟬聯聯盟MVP的柯瑞(Stephen Curry)，得到7張第1名選票、總分83分排名第四。他是史上第一位前季拿下MVP，下一季在最佳進步獎票選中還能進入前十名的球員。
